Technical Surveillance Counter Measures (TSCM)

Qualification Purpose

This Technical Surveillance Counter Measures Training Course is designed for those responsible for technical and information security. To use counter-surveillance equipment with the maximum success, it is also necessary to understand the thought process and actions of those who use technical surveillance, other information gathering and espionage techniques. This qualification meets the requirements for those operating in the Technical Surveillance Counter Measures role.

Outcomes & Assessment

The mandatory units cover the skills, knowledge and competence to provide increased awareness and information regarding technical surveillance techniques through practical demonstrations hands on use and discussions. To develop the knowledge and skills to enable students to perform effective TSCM operations applicable to their own specific operating environment and threat level

Accreditation

Successful completion of this course will award students with a International Security Training Qualification Award in Technical Surveillance Countermeasures.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course the delegates will;

  • Know the capabilities of vehicle eavesdropping and tracking devices
  • Be aware of surveillance devices and concealment techniques
  • Know front line technical search equipment, ancillary and telephone test/techniques
  • Be aware of threats to vehicles, Private Homes, Offices, Buildings and communications systems
  • Know how to conduct a vehicle and room search
  • Be aware of methods and device attack techniques
  • Know what recommendations assist mitigation of identified threats
  • Know how to compile and design a bespoke or generic report template
  • Be aware of the principles associated with TSCM
  • Know the issues associated with a technical attack
  • Know mitigation procedures to limit the uses of a vehicle attack

Learner Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements however; some pre course assignments are required. Learners should be able to work at level 3 or above and be proficient in the use of the English Language.

Costs

£2000 PP at the current UK rate
(Pre deposit of £450 required balance due 28 working days prior to course commencement)
