International Award in Understanding Stewarding at Spectator Events

The International Award in Understanding Stewarding at Spectator Events is a qualification for individuals seeking employment in spectator safety or currently working in spectator safety. Candidates can progress to the Spectator Safety Supervisor & Management. This qualification is ideal for those working at Major Events such as Concerts, Sporting events, and major rallies.

This qualification is ideal for the International market now that they are more involved in major events and helping to set new standards.

The Award in Understanding Stewarding at Spectator Events contains the following four units:

  • How to respond to injuries, illnesses and other emergencies in active leisure and learning.
  • How stewards control the entry, exit and movement of spectators at events.
  • How stewards monitor crowds and respond to potential crowd problems at spectator events.
  • How stewards prepare for spectator events.

Previous learning requirements, there are no formal entry requirements; this qualification is open to all candidates who are preparing to work, or who already work, in the event stewarding/spectator safety industry, and for those going to work at Major Events such as Concerts, Sporting events, and major rallies.

The assessment for this qualification is through externally set and externally marked multiple choice tests and an assessment workbook. A good understandinng of English is required for to undertake this qualification.

Candidates must successfully achieve all four units to achieve the International Award in Understanding Stewarding at Spectator Events.
